As we look to the future, we must continue to strive toward commonsense solutions to our toughest issues. I will engage the community, truly listen to your concerns and be a tenacious advocate and leader for you at the capitol. As an attorney and mediator, I have nearly a decade of experience advocating for people, mediating, and resolving tough disputes. My daily work involves interpreting and applying the law, which provides me a unique advantage when it comes to drafting, understanding and passing legislation. We need someone who intimately understands the law and the legislative process to be our champion and ensure that our best interests are represented and protected at the capitol. I also understand the importance of listening to one another and working together, which is vital to success at the Legislature, where I will work tirelessly to continue to build a better Minnesota.
A principle that is close to my heart is offering my skillset to those in need. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I traveled to southern Louisiana on three separate occasions offering free legal services to a variety of community and national organizations. My experiences in Louisiana impacted my life in such a profound way that I promised myself I would always be a voice for the voiceless, and hope for the hopeless. I will take this passion for public service to the Minnesota State Capitol and advocate for everyone in my district.
